Playskool Sesame Street LOL Elmo

This Elmo is so cute. It laughs and says little things like “That’s hilarious!” “Elmo needs a break” “laugh with Elmo!”. It moves its hands and legs and will throw himself backwards (and back up). He’s definitely not a snuggle type toy, but that’s okay. My 12 month old loves him and it’s the perfect size for her.

I didn’t even have to wait to spring this on visitors under 4. Elmo had ME laughing aloud. There is something about his laughter, movements, and the silly fun of the fish-bowl that is irresistible.

Elmo has the quality one may expect with Playskool products, and it’s a very attractive and cuddly toy. My only caution to grandparents is that Elmo is so highly entertaining that the visiting grandchildren will see to it that his laughter goes on for hours – so be prepared to laugh along all day or ‘tune out.’

The animatronics that allow the legs to kick and the mouth to open and close keep this from being as soft and cuddly as an ordinary Elmo stuffed toy. You can feel the metal skeleton inside the legs.

To get LOL Elmo to laugh, you squeeze his feet. I highly recommend reading the instruction booklet so you’ll know how to interact with him to get him really laughing and telling jokes. You will have to take him off “Demo” mode by opening up his back and sliding the switch.

The sound quality is much better than some toys but you still have to listen carefully to understand LOL Elmo’s jokes.

The adults in the family thoroughly enjoyed LOL Elmo but the real test came when I gave him to a 19-month-old. The look of absolute wonder in her eyes the moment she saw him and saw him move for the first time was priceless.

Some children get more enjoyment out of their stuffed animals than others, so consider the personality of the child when deciding. Also bear in mind that the attention span of the target market for this toy is very short. Nothing holds a toddler’s attention very long.

If you give LOL Elmo to a toddler, be sure to watch carefully for the initial reaction. It won’t be repeated and it is too wonderful to miss.

My favorite part of watching Sesame Street with my kids is hearing Elmo laugh. It always makes my kids giggle. We’ve had other Elmo toys that laugh, including the bigger Elmo that tipped over and tried to get back up – that one did not work out very well and honestly was a little creepy with its jerky mechanical movements. The LOL Elmo, however, has been nothing but a hit around our house. If you press his feet or his tummy, he cracks up. Holding a foot for a few seconds makes Elmo tell a cute preschool joke. Also, if you squeak Dorothy’s fish bowl right next to Elmo, he laughs out loud. When he laughs, he rolls around, kicks his legs and has that infectious Sesame Street laugh my kids and I have grown to love!
I gave it four stars instead of five just because making silly sounds next to Elmo does not seem to work very well with ours. Squeaking the fish bowl works about half of the time, and making silly sounds about a third of the time. It’s still a very cute toy, and much loved by my daughter. I think it would make a great Christmas gift for any Elmo fan!

This is a fun toy that will easily make any child or adult giggle. Elmo laughs, tells jokes, kicks his feet and waves his arms. He’s easy to work, by squeezing his foot or squeezing his fish toy. Tickling his tummy also works, though not as well.

I do think the motor is loud, and can sometimes make it difficult to hear Elmo speak. And I’m not sure how long this toy will last in the hands of a more aggressive child or toddler. The moving parts make the limbs and especially the head easy to pop off.

I purchased this Elmo for my toddler as a Christmas gift. I played around with it a little after it arrived to determine if he would like it. He is going to love it! It’s not an educational toy per say but it does assist children in learning cause/effect as well as motor skills. I just cant wait to hear my son yell “tickle tickle tickle emo” lol

THIS-WAS-FUN! This version of Elmo has charm and personality and our two year old niece loves him. He giggles, laughs, makes jokes, his arms/hands and legs move and he says things like, “laugh with Elmo!”, “Elmo needs a break” and more. If you squeeze his feet he kicks them and his hands up and down while laughing and can flop backwards, forwards and backs up and is rather a surprisingly active little fellow, tickling his tummy throws him into a giggle fest

Just a few setbacks in my mind; he is not a soft squeezable toy because of his skeletal structure, which may have been seen as necessary with this design to enable him to do so much, but I think that there is room for improvement and they may want to correct that problem in a new design with a softer skeletal structure. The other thing is that the parts may be subject to breaking as they seem a bit friable and it is hard to tell sans taking it apart if the skeletal structure would cut a child if it breaks. I would have made the skeletal system of a softer, rubbery material. I give it just under 4 stars rating which works out to 4 stars on this ratings scale.

The ad for this red Elmo said he loves a side-splitting, rolling-on-the-floor giggle-fest! I couldn’t say it better, but I would like to share that we ended up on the floor right along with him. He is too hilarious!

I got him as a Christmas decoration and placed him beneath the tree for the little ones to play with. Needless to say, they fought over him, so Granny had a lot of supervising to do.

Sure, our house was noisy at Christmas, but there’s nothing more healthy than laughter…and it was such fun to laugh along with Elmo and the kids and to hear his jokes. Also, it was easy for even our two-year-old to find the right “tickle spots”: his feet and his tummy. Not to mention the squeaky Dorothy’s fishbowl (an added bonus with Elmo).

Highly recommended! Elmo turns every house into a home filled with laughter. No one can resist him…
